Sister Wives Season 2 Episode 5. The American unscripted reality television series broadcast, Sister Wives, on TLC in 2010 documents the life of a polygamist family residing in Lehi, Utah. The big family includes the sales man Kody Brown who is the patriarch, his four wives and their 16 children. From September 26 to October 17, 2010, the seven-episode of the first season was broadcasted and hit the high ratings according to the reports of Nielsen Media Research. The second season of Sister wives had been renewed and had been shown on the television screens since this March 2011.
Kody Brown together with his wives have claimed that they contributed to the success of the show with the purpose of making the public aware of polygamist families and how they can face societal prejudices. Brown has claimed that his polygamist arrangement is legal due to the fact that he is legally married to one woman, and the other marriages are made possible by spiritual unions. However, legal experts say that the series could end up leaving the Brown family exposed to criminal prosecution. Just after the first day when the show started, Lehi police announced that they were conducting a bigamy investigation into the family. The Utah Attorney General’s office has not ruled out seeking criminal charges against the family, but instead they stated that they do not have the resources to go after polygamists who are not really suspected of serious crimes which includes child abuse or child trafficking.
Kody’s family is considered to be a fundamentalist Mormon family which belongs to the apostolic United Brethren Church. Their faith, however does not align with the typical LDS church. The title of the series, “Sister Wives” pertains to the concept of Mormon fundamentalism where the wives in a plural marriage did not only marry the husband, but they are eternally bound to one another. Some years prior to the production of the series, the family kept their polygamist lifestyle which they termed as a “quasi-secret”. This have pushed Kody and his family to be part of the show because they merely want to let the public know about polygamist lifestyle.
From the last episode entitled Carving into Polygamy (Season 2 Episode 4), the Brown family celebrates Halloween. For the next episode that you would expect (Season 2 Episode 5), Wife No. 3 Hits Sin City: Kody together with Christine and the kids all went to their vacation spot; back at home, the rest of the family is out for the night to play bowling.
